Fusion Reactor Explosively Formed Vacuum Chamber

Constructed for the University of Wisconsin - Madison, this helically symmetric stellerator design nuclear fusion reactor component was formed using high explosive fabrication techniques.

Using high energy rate fabrication techniques, high alloy steel was formed into the exact shapes needed for the vessel. Watch one of the test shots from this project below.
